Art is my first passion, and I have been drawing as long as I can remember. I like to think that I am constantly improving, but there are some rather dry spells when I make no discernable progress and struggle with the same problem over and over. Frequently I am satisfied with a product, and then a while later I look back and feel that it isn't worthy of lining the bottom of a parakeet cage. So please bear with me. Anything which is older than a month is probably not something I like so much anymore, though I am beginning to be satisfied for longer and longer periods. When I can paint like John Singer Sargent, I will be fulfilled and ever happy with my work; until then, I must struggle on.
I was introduced to anime almost two years ago, and I have been hooked on it ever since. At first I was very hesitant, fearing that it would interfere with my ability to draw realistically, but I have actually found it to be the other way around. I have spent so long drawing realistically that it is impossible for me to shed those influences, and it runs rampant even when I am deliberately stylizing. Still, I have a style which makes me happy and has filled many notebooks with doodles.

Landscapes, Still Lives, and Portraits
Rather self-explanatory. Mostly watercolor and pencil, though some charcoal and other media mixed in. Some of these are done for myself, most for school.

Figure Drawing
Studies of the human figure in charcoal, pencil, and oil paint. Most of these were done in art school over the past two summers. These figures are nude. If you do not care to see nudes, please do not visit this section of my site. Otherwise, please click on the words “Figure Drawing” to enter this gallery.

Fanart
Drawings of characters not of my creation. Some of these are famous, published ones, such as those belonging to Yuu Watase and Neil Gaiman; others belong to artists who are, if less reknown, no less worthy of praise. Some of these are gift arts, some are contest entries, and some are just because I like the character.

Casters of Shadows
This is my largest project, and you can read about it in its own section. These are all the drawings related to the series, from when it first started up until now.

Calligraphy
I do calligraphy in any language for which I know the alphabet. These pieces here run the gamut from practice sheets to finished works.

Miscellaneous I do some jewelry making, as well as carptentry and dressmaking (I design my own stuff- patterns are boring!). I also occasionally draw things which don't fit into any of the other categories.
